John Wesley Nooner, 74, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

He was born on August 2, 1942 in Hot Springs to Wesley and Eunice Nooner. On December 1, 1997, he married Becky Knabe. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gloria "Penny" Moore; and grandson Chaz Wade. John loved spending time with his family, friends and fur baby, Marlie Grace. His laughter was infectious and he loved to make others smile. He always had a cup of coffee, listening ear, words of wisdom and was ready to help. He loved football games, playing his guitar and cooking. His favorite Bible verses were Isaiah 41:10 and John 3:16. John was a great man of honor and integrity. He was a retired police officer from the Hot Springs Police Department, the Hot Spring County Sheriff's Department and served his country in the United States Army. Those left to cherish his memory include his beautiful and loving wife of 20 years, Becky Nooner; children, Kimberly (Johnny) Walker, Julie Nooner, John (Trish) Nooner, Candice (Brad) VanDee, CJ (Sarah) Knabe and many he called his "own." He had three brothers, Jerry (Lynn) Nooner, Edward "Buddy" Nooner, Alan (Linda) Nooner and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs with Bro. Jerry Garrett officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with honors provided by the Hot Springs Police Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening.

Pallbearers will be Adam Moore, Paul Moore, Wesley Walker, Jacob Nooner, Eric Morrison and Kendrik Nooner. Honorary pallbearers are the Hot Springs Police Department, Hot Springs Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1, Hot Spring County Sheriff's Department, Johnny Merriott, Vernon Breshears, Johnny Walker, Wesley Nooner, Nick Nooner, Ethan Nooner and Robert Blackstead.

Special thanks to Dr. Mark Lefler and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arkansas Hospice.
