July 24, 1897 - April 14, 1948
Mrs. Maurice Cawthon, aged 50 years, died at her home on Greening Street Wednesday afternoon. She had been in ill health for several years. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard and Bill all of Camden; one grandchild; and her father, J. W. King, of Hugo, Okla. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at Proctor's Chapel, with the Rev. M. Lee Sorey officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery with Proctor's in charge. Active pallbearers are: J. C. Webb, Mark Pierce, Alton Mashaw, Eugene Cawthon, Ed Leysath, and John Gilleland. Mrs. Cawthon has many friends who will regret to learn of her death. (Camden News - April 15, 1948)
