Art McCombs was born on 04 August 1937 in La Porte City, Black Hawk County, Iowa. He is the oldest of 4 children born to Raymond Haviland and Gertrude Margaret (Marshall) McCombs. He married Effie Carolyn Yarbrough on 20 August 1960 in Conway, Faulkner County, Arkansas. They are the parents of 4 children: Anita (Mike)Langford, Beth (Daniel) Finch, Carol (Shannon) Walters and Ken (Mika) McCombs. Art later married Reba Faye (Pate) Yarbrough. Reba was the widow of C.B. Yarbrough (Carolyn's cousin).
