MOUNTAINBURG — Terry Bassham, 58, of Mountainburg died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, in a Fayetteville hospital. He was a member and elder of Mountainburg Presbyterian Church, owner and operator of Bassham Grocery Store in Mountainburg, chief of District No. 3 Volunteer Fire Department and member of Mountainburg Masonic Lodge.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mountainburg Presbyterian Church with burial at Vaught Cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Amber Hopwood of Mountainburg; a son, Andy Bassham of Mountainburg; his mother, Lois Bassham of Mountainburg; a brother, James Bassham of Nashville, Tenn.; and two grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Todd, Gary and Bren Marshell, Allen Ward, Bill Coleman, Bobby Willroth, Dennis Shores, John Salyer and Robin Kuykendall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Crawford County District No. 3 volunteer firefighters.
He was a life long resident of Mountainburg and a faithful elder in the Mountainburg Presbyterian Church. He was owner and operator of Bassham Grocery Store in Mountainburg, lontime member of the city council, the Chief of District No. 3 Volunteer Fire Department for thirty years and a member of the Mountainburg Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Bassham.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bassham of the home, one daughter, Amber Hopwood and husband Daniel of Mountainburg, One son, Andy Bassham and wife Emily of Mountainburg, his mother, Lois Bassham of Mountainburg; brother, James Bassham and wife Judy of Nashville, Tennessee; and two grandsons, Eli and Nate Bassham.
Pallbearers: Bill Colemean, Robin Kuykendall, Bren Marshell, Gary Lee Marshell, Todd Marshell, John Salyer, Dennis Shores, Allen Ray Ward, and Bobby Wilroth.
Honorary Pallbearers: Crawford County District No. 3 Volunteer Firemen, Mike Jeremiah, Scott Price and Al Willroth.
