May 18, 1915 - October 6, 1967
N. K. Ashworth, 52 years old, Mountainburg, was killed Friday afternoon, October 6, 1967 in a hunting accident. As he and a friend were getting into the car to go hunting, the gun accidently discharged killing Mr. Ashworth instantly, according to coroner Ronnie Ocker.
Born May 18, 1915 at Altus, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Ed Ashworth and Mrs. Mary Ashworth of Mountainburg. He was a member of First Baptist church of Mountainburg, the Plumbers Local No. 29 of Fort Smith and a welder on a government project near West Fork.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille; three sisters, Juanita, Opal and Vera; a brother Edward and his mother, Mrs. Mary Ashworth of Mountainburg.
The funeral service was held in First Baptist church at Mountinburg Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Luther Heath, the officiating minister. Burial was in Vaught cemetery under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
