Ples T. Dickerson, 54, a logger of the Jordan community, near Norfork, died Tuesday at Calico Rock. He was a Protestant and a World War II veteran.
The son of the late Oliver Russell Dickerson and Mary Frances Dickerson, he was born Sep 26, 1922, in Baxter County and was a lifetime resident of the county. He was married to the former Ardith Lucy at Norfork, Feb 28, 1941.
Survivors include his wife, at the home at Jordan; two sons, Jarl Dickerson of Dolph and Roy Lee Dickerson of Jordan; three brothers, Austin Lackey of Lakeview, Acie Dickerson of Caldwell, ID and George Dickerson of Jordan; three sisters, Syrilda White of New Boston, TX, Avis White of Hooks, TX and Mary Jenkins of Kansas City, KS; and five grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday at the Galatia Methodist Church, on State Highway 5 near Norfork, with Rev. Garland Skidmore officiating. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Charles Watson, Del Stacy, Dwight Teegarden, Ed Teegarden, Noel Teegarden and E.L. Southard.
