John Windel Lay, 81, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born August 25, 1929, at Mt. Vernon, Arkansas, to Walter and Bertha (Permenter) Lay, and he died Wednesday, November 17, 2010. He lived in Mt. Vernon until 1958 when he moved to Beebe. He worked for Timex for seventeen years and loved to hunt and fish. John is survived by his brother, Jack Lay, his sister Geralda Rackley, both of Searcy, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jessie Lay and James Lay. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at St. Mary's Cemetery at Rose Bud.
