Ona L. Rockwell, age 96, of Traskwood, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was born September 18, 1922 in Quitman, Arkansas. Ona was retired from Saline Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Congo Lodge. Ona was preceded in death by her parents, Benton and Adma Atterberry; husband, James Bert Rockwell, Jr.; daughter, Mary Lynn Lee; three brothers, Victor, Edward and Eule Atterberry; two sisters, Ruth Moore and Vona Wood, and granddaughter, Rachel Murie
She is survived by a son, Richard Rockwell of Damascus; three daughters, Joan Sample of Hot Springs, Susan Wiggington of England and Phyllis Williams of Malvern; sister, Ruby Beene; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and nineteen great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12 at Ashby Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rose Bud at 1:30 p.m.
