*Obituary

The Rev. James O. Hargett, 81 of Rosebud a minister and retired farmer, died Friday (March 16, 1979) at Cleburne County Hospital as Heber Springs.

He was a member of the Church of God

The Rev. Mr. Hargett was born Aug 15, 1897, at Quitman, a son of the Rev. Andrew J. and Lula Brannon Hargett.

Survivors are two sons, James C. Hargett of Jacksonville, Ark. and Charles L. Hargett of Fort Laurderdale, Fla.; Four daughters, Mrs. Dorene Haney and Mrs. Montene Haney, both of Rosebud, Mrs Sue Reddick of North Little Rock and Mrs Marie Jones of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Carroll Hargett of Nevada; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Morris of Quitman, Mrs. Winnie Welhelm, Mrs. Effie Sharp and Mrs. Elmus Hiegel, all of Heber Springs, and Mrs Goldie Jones of North Little Rock, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday as St. Mary's Chapel near Rosebud. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery by McNutt Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Floyd Cook, Edward Jobe, Wayne Burlison, Jimmy Crockett, Carlyle Maddox and Amos Lester.

Mrs. Emma Alice Hargett 72, of Rt 1, Mount Vernon, died Saturday afternoon (Sept. 19, 1970) at Lakeland Lodge in Heber Springs. She was a native of Conway.

Mrs. Hargett was born June 16, 1898, a daughter of Joe and Amanda McNair Brazier. Mrs. Hargett was a member of the Church of God.

She married Mr. Hargett Aug. 3, 1919, and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Air Force CMS James C. Hargett of Anchorage, Alaska, and Charles L. Hargett of Fort Laurderdale, Fla.; four daughters. Mrs Dorene Haney and Mrs. Montene Haney, both of Rosebud; Mrs. Sue Reddick of North Little Rock and Mrs. Marie Jones of Little Rock; a brother, H.C. Brazier of Quitman, five foster sisters, one foster brother, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 PM Tuesday at St. Mary's Chapel by the Rev. Msr. Gladys Wood and Rev. Dave Blakely. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery by McNutt Funeral Home.

Palbearers will be Floyd Cook, Edward Jobe, Dewey McAfee, Joe Duprist, Carlisle Maddox and Amos Lester.
