HETTIE HESTER FREE succumbs, age 79; formerly of Quitman
Mrs. Hettie Hester Hargett Free, 79, of Beebe died Saturday (June 29, 1974). She was the widow of William H. Free.
She was born in Quitman on March 16, 1895, a daughter of Jack and Lula Brannon Hargett. She was a Methodist and a housewife.
Survivors include three sons, Lee Vern Free of North Little Rock, Willford Free and Harold Free, both of Beebe; five daughters, Billie Free of Beebe, Mrs. Morris Snowden of Greenbrier, Mrs. Eula Lasley of Enola, Mrs. Jimmy Brittain and Mrs Sue Kirkpatrick, both of Beebe; two brothers, Jim Hargett of Mount Vernon and Carrol Hargett of Henderson, Nev.; five sisters, Mrs. Winnie Wilhelm of Heber Springs, Mrs. Minnie Morris of Quitman, Mrs. Effie Sharp of Heber Springs, Mrs. Goldie Jones of North Little Rock, and Mrs Elmus Hiegel of Heber Springs; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Chapel at Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Ernest Anderson of El Paso will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery by McNutt Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Free, Danny Free, Ronnie Mobbs, Ken Kirkpatrick, Sam Snowden and Dan Snowden.
