Don H. Vickers, age 66 of Jacksonville, died Wednesday in Jacksonville. He was born March 28, 1938 at Floyd to J.O. "Bud" Vickers and Wallis Lorene (Benton) Vickers. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, retired from Prospect Steel where he worked as a welder and an avid hunter and sportsman. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Brenda Vickers of Jacksonville; two sons, Donnie Vickers of Beebe, Shane Vickers of Sherwood; one step-daughter, Kimberly Chism of Jacksonville; one brother, Monty Vickers of Mayflower; two sisters, Ima Lea Rainwater of Arkadelphia, and Jean Haley of Floyd. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock p.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family has asked that memorials be sent to the National Wild Turkey Federation.
