Butter Creek Cemetery was established in the 1800's or before. It is on Private Property and contains some 70 plus graves marked with field stones, and only one identifiable headstone. This was the burial site of the Walnut Grove Community before the end of the Civil War. During the Civil War the Walnut Grove Cemetery was established at a more convenient location to the Community.
