BENTONVILLE — Robert J. Pearson, 81, of Bentonville died June 17, 2005, at Bentonville Manor in Bentonville. He was born on Aug. 15, 1923, in Berkeley, Calif., to Erik and Olga Pearson. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Asian Pacific. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for more than 42 years.

He was a member of Bayside Golfers Association; loved sports, coached and umpired Little League for many years; and was an avid bowler. He moved to Bella Vista in 1999 from San Carlos, Calif.

He was a member of Bella Vista Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9063, America Legion Post 341 and past company commander in California American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Pearson in 1999.

He is survived by one son, Richard "Rick" Pearson and wife, Tosh of Bentonville; three grandchildren, Rikki Pearson, Candi Pearson and Tanner Pearson. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel in Bella Vista with Don Seba officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Community Center, 1211 Hudson Road, Rogers, 72756.
