BELLA VISTA — Antonius "Tony" Schnieders, 88, of Bella Vista, Ark., died July 26, 2017. He was born on March 24, 1929, in Greven, Germany, to Hermann Schnieders and Maria Wiesbrock Schnieders.
He was raised and educated in Germany. Tony married Gerda Lanfer on Aug. 3, 1953, in Muenster, Germany. They immigrated to Canada in May 1954 and to the United States in July 1969. They lived in Fort Myers, Fla., for 23 years. Tony was an electrician for B&I Electric in Fort Myers. They retired and moved to Bella Vista in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking and was active at the Bella Vista Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gertrud Schnieders; brothers, Heinrich, Hermann, Bernard, Wilhelm, and Fritz and sisters, Sister Maria Pacifica and Anna. He is survived by one son, Richard G. Schnieders and wife, Linda of Fort Myers, Fla.; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rodgers of Rogers, Ark.; three grandchildren, Jonathon, Marlies and Kaitlyn; and two great-grandchildren, Aleeza and Axton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 29 at Innisfree Senior Living, 300 Innisfree Circle, Rogers, Ark. Memorials may be made to Encompass World Partners, for missionaries Kent and Becky Good, P.O. Box 3298, Monument, Colo., 80132-3290. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
