BELLA VISTA — Bruce Schweitzer, 71, of Bella Vista, died March 22, 1999, at Innisfree Nursing Center in Rogers. He was born June 29, 1927, in Oxford, Iowa, to Frank and Mabel Schweitzer.
He worked for NW Bell for 35 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of the Des Moines Club and Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Bender Schweitzer of Bella Vista, to whom he was married in 1952; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott Schweitzer and Lisa of Grimes, Iowa; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Globokar and Mike of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Katey Schweitzer, Thomas Schweitzer and Daniel Globokar.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bella Vista Community Church with the Rev. David McKay officiating. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire, Bella Vista, 72714.
