Betty Jo Marks, age 88, of Crossett, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020. She was born in Russellville, AR on July 15, 1931 to Roy Earl and Ruth Galentine Jones. She graduated high school from Dardanelle High School where she met the love of her life, William R. Marks. They married in 1952.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Robert Marks. She is survived by her sister, Patsy Keller of Farmington, AR and brother, John Jones of Grand Prairie, TX; two daughters, Kathryn Bush and her husband, Michael Bush of Orlando, FL, and Patricia Lovett of Crossett, AR; four grandchildren, Joanna Smith (David) of Dundee, FL, Dana Abney (Jon) of Roanoke, VA, Douglas Bush (Robyn) of Davenport, FL, and Leslie Lauhon (Derek) of Crossett, AR along with five grandchildren.

She was a dedicated Air Force wife and had the luxury of traveling all over the world. Betty was a teacher for 20 years with the majority of her time teaching 1st grade at Price Elementary School. She made a difference in so many of her student’s lives over the years. She loved her family, especially spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty’s talents included quilting, reading, and gardening. She also had a private pilot license. She served the Lord with all her heart and was an active member at the Church of Christ in Crossett, AR. She taught Sunday School at that church to numerous young children throughout the years. She also was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an organization for women educators.
