August 8, 1931 - July 25, 2014
Elmer Loy, age 82, of Hot Springs, died Friday, July 25, 2014.
He was born on August 8, 1931 in Red Oak, the son of Dallas Clear Loy and Bessie Barbara Lynn Loy, who preceded him in death. On April 3, 1960 he married Rosie Rathaskie.
Elmer was Christian in his faith. He tinkered with cars and made them run better; he found peace in his work, and that included cutting his grass on his tractor. He enjoyed making guitars and playing them. Elmer talked with everyone, family and friends, old and young alike, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosie Loy; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and James McGuire; one niece and her husband, Brenda and Robert Jester, all of Hot Springs; three grand-nephews; numerous great-grand nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the Fouche Loupe Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Ross officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
