Kara Leigh Taylor, 25, of Bryant, Ark., peacefully passed away on the morning on February 9th, 2021, after 15 months of a courageous battle against brain cancer. She was born to Gail and Raymond Taylor of Pine Bluff, Ark., on December 2nd, 1995. Kara attended Bryant schools from kindergarten through high school and graduated from Bryant High School in 2014, where she was a member of the soccer team.
Kara first attended Arkansas State University before transferring to the University of Arkansas- Pulaski Technical College. She also attended the Baptist Health School of Nursing where she received her Associate of Applied Science degree and graduated as a registered nurse. Afterwards, she attended UALR and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was working as registered nurse in the Progressive Critical Care Unit at the Arkansas Heart Hospital when she was initially diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was committed to helping others heal and gave her patients the same love and care that she would give family members.
Kara is survived by her grandpa, Don Briney of Bryant; parents, Gail Taylor of Bryant and Raymond Taylor of Redfield; her brother, Kyle and sister-in-law, Jill Taylor, of Benton. She is also survived by her cousins Lela (Marcus) McDougal of Jersey, and Ashly Briney of Monticello, and her children, Brooklyn and Ethan. Kara is survived by a nephew and nieces, Jack and Winnie Middlebrooks of Benton, and Ruby Gail Taylor of Benton as well. Kara loved her group of longtime friends, and was a proud mom to her cats, Jaxx and Joey. She is preceded in death by her uncle, Michael Briney of Pine Bluff, and grandma, Bonnie Briney, of Bryant. She is also preceded by grandparents, Thomas and Jimmie Malone of Pine Bluff.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and we find comfort in knowing that we will see her again. Because of this belief combined with Kara's fun and magnetic personality, we will be holding a Celebration of Life in lieu of a traditional funeral. This heartfelt celebration will be at Gina's Catering on Saturday, February 20 from 2-6 p.m. Friends and family are asked to drop in and reminisce on a life full of love and laughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to CARTI or Arkansas Neuroscience Institute Research and Education Center in Kara's honor. Cremation Arrangements Entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. www.ArkansasCremation.com.
