Clifton was born December 27, 1937, in Calion, Arkansas in Union County to Earnest Lowery and Edna Mae Braggs.
Clifton enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1970-1974. He was an employee at Great Lakes Chemical in El Dorado, AR as a Plant Operator for 28 years.
He professed his faith at an early age and became a member of First Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, where he served as an usher.
Clifton was a loving and devoted husband who married Maxine Smith on September 12, 1988, where they had 31 wonderful years together.
He was a die-hard Crappie fisherman. He loved fishing in lakes all over Union County, but he mostly fish at Lake Chicot in Lake Village, AR where he and Maxine would spend their time together camping with their many friends. He fish until his health started failing. Clifton was full of life and was the family’s comedian.
Clifton was called to rest on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Christine, Earnestine Lowery, and one grandchild, Leon Lowery.
His loving memories will be cherished by his wife Maxine Lowery of El Dorado, AR, 2 sons, Clifton Lowery Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Earnest Ethridge (Shelia) Lowery of Dallas, TX, three brothers, Cecil (Edna) Lowery of Garland, TX, George T.(Barbara)Lowery of El Dorado, AR, J.T. Lowery of Little Rock, AR, one sister Patricia Winston of Little Rock, AR,10 grandchildren, Clifton Lowery III of Lathrop CA, Maurice Lowery of Alberque, NM, Ramon Lowery of Alberque, NM, Jazmin Lowery of Portland, OR, LaTiffany Lowery of Austin, TX, Chamette Morgan of Cedar Hills, TX, Ashley Ethridge of Cedar Hill, TX, Jada Terry of Cedar Hill, TX, Jordan Terry of Cedar Hill, TX, Zstateviqua Ethridge Of Dallas, TX, 40 great-grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives, and Friends.
