February 3, 1928 - July 29, 1974
Mrs. Mary McMurrin Reid, 60, of Route 3, El Dorado, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be today at 10 a.m. in Young's Chapel with the Rev. Ralph S. Mann and Rev. Richard Justice officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery. Born July 6, 1914, in Union County, the daughter of Harry and Sinie Murphy McMurrin. Mrs. Reid was the retired former owner and operator of Cozy Kitchen Restaurant. She was a Methodist and a life-long resident of Union County. She is survived by her husband, Norman L. Reid of El Dorado; one daughter, Mrs. J. T. Dean of New Orleans, La.; her mother, Mrs. Sinie McMurrin of Route 3; three sisters, Mrs. Agee Lowe and Mrs. Hazel Morton, both of El Dorado, and Mrs. Ruby Burleigh of Luling, La.; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joe G. Wepfer, Beryl Anthony, Sr., Marvin Clark, R. Byrd, Al Herndon and Floyd Lippert. (El Dorado News-Times - July 31, 1974)
