John Henry Evans, Jr, 81 of Magnolia, AR., passed away March 16th at his home.
He was born March 1, 1938 in Calion, AR. to John Henry Evans, Sr. and Elizabeth Harper-Evans.
he was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; Sarah L. Moore-Evans.
Survivors include: two sons; Ray (Yamel) Broadnax and Brian Evans. Two daughters; Mrs. Nina De La Garza and Mrs. Angela (Bobby) Smith. one step-son; Bruce T. Moore, a step-daughter; Mrs. Barbara Ann Moore, three grandchildren, his cousins; Mrs. Sylvia Lacy, Mrs. Dorothy Curley, & Mrs. Betty Dorch, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR., with burial to follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery in El Dorado, AR, with military honors. Under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC of Magnolia, AR. Officiating will be Dr. W. F. Colen.
Visitation Thursday from 1- 4: p.m. at the funeral home.
