Miss Gwendolyn Poland, 10, of 708 S. Smith Ave., died Wednesday in a local hospital. Born in El Dorado, May 29, 1960, she was the daughter of Lige and Ailene Grimes Poland. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Ailene Poland, El Dorado; three sisters, Miss Geneva Poland, Houston, Tex., Miss Betty Lou Poland and Miss Brenda Joyce Poland, both of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Church of God in Christ, Plum Street, with Elder L. C. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Lott Burgy Cemetery under the direction of Sims Mortuary. The body will be taken to the church at noon. (El Dorado Times - January 29, 1971)
