February 10, 1963 - January 13, 2017
Victor Marsetti Rodgers of Strong, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, AR. He was 53 years old.
He was born on February 10, 1963, in El Dorado, AR, to Clarence (Bud) Wilbert Rodgers and Claudia Faye Thigpen-Rodgers. He was baptized at Saint James Baptist Church at an early age.
Marsetti was affable, comedic, nonjudgmental, and loving. He never met a stranger, and all who came in contact with him, marveled at his outgoing disposition. He found joy in gathering with his family and friends. He was not one to look back on his life with regrets but found solace in knowing that he took responsibility for every decision he made. His good nature, compassion, and zest for life will be indelible inked on the hearts of all who loved him.
Marsetti was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Claudia Rodgers, two sisters, Carolyn Rodgers and Carolyn McClelland, and two brothers, Quentin Rodgers and Keith Bishop.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Sharon Fiffer of El Dorado, AR and Brett Rodgers of Los Angeles, California. 11 Grandkids: Jadaesha, Kristopher, Dominaysha, Serenity, Zy-terrius, Javiun, Darrion, Bryan, Jarrett, Jaden and Jaliah; 6 step-grandkids: Charisma, Hailey, Regan, Kayden, Channing, and Beckit.
He is survived by five brothers: Alphonso Montgomery, Anthony Rodgers, and Cori Rodgers of Strong AR; Clarence Rodgers Jr., and Mario Rodgers of Conway, AR.
He also leaves to mourn five sisters: Sharon Thigpen-Gatson, of North Little Rock, AR, Alice Cato of Antioch, CA, Sue Ann Washington of El Dorado, AR; Beverly Montgomery of Pine Bluff, AR; and Tara Loggin of Strong, AR; his special friend, Debra Wallace of Conway; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him immensely.
Visitation will be from 12 noon - 4:30 p.m. at Sims Mortuary Friday, January 20, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Morning Star Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas where Rev. Felton Burgie is the pastor and Rev. Robert Cunningham, eulogist.
