Mrs. Ruby Bennett McCrackin, age 83, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, August 11, at the Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City. She had been in poor health for the past several years.

Mrs. McCrackin was born August 9, 1927, in Searcy, Arkansas, and was the daughter of John Berry Bennett and Annie Wilson Bennett. She lived in Forrest City most of her life, was a retired owner and operator of Guy's Furniture Company in Forrest City and was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church.

Mrs. McCrackin married Guy B. McCrackin in 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Riggs, and husband, Roger, of Forrest City, and one granddaughter, Paula Williamson of Jonesboro. She had one son, Joe McCrackin, who preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at the Ridgewood Baptist Church, 2:00 P.M. Saturday. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the on line registry.

*When GUY Benson McCrackin was born on October 24, 1916, in Cleburne, Arkansas, his father, Robert, was 49 and his mother, Rachel, was 40. He married Ruby Mae Bennett on June 22, 1946. They had two children during their marriage. He died on February 9, 1992, in Forrest City, Arkansas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.

When Ruby Mae Bennett was born on August 9, 1927, in Searcy, Arkansas, her father, John, was 42, and her mother, Annie, was 36. She married GUY Benson McCrackin on June 22, 1946. They had two children during their marriage. She died on August 11, 2010, in Forrest City, Arkansas, at the age of 83, and was buried in her hometown.
