When William Arthur Shaw was born on January 1, 1900, in Faulkner, Arkansas, his father, Robert, was 34 and his mother, Martha, was 27. He had two sons and three daughters with Elizabeth Florence McCracken. He died on July 25, 1973, in Judsonia, Arkansas, at the age of 73, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
