*When John Morris Casteel was born on June 1, 1839, in McMinn, Tennessee, his father, Elijah, was 38 and his mother, Patience, was 38. He married Harriet "Hattie" Amanda Josephine McCurdy and they had 13 children together. He also had one son with Mary Jane McWhirter. He then married Sarah B English Garrison and they had two children together. He died on April 15, 1924, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 86.
