*When William Thomas Nichols was born on March 23, 1818, in Newberry, South Carolina, his father, Allen, was 31 and his mother, Eva, was 23. He married Martha S Hamilton on December 20, 1848, in Williamson, Tennessee. They had seven children in 16 years. He died on June 26, 1901, having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
Martha S Hamilton was born on June 28, 1830, in Williamson, Tennessee. She married William Thomas Nichols on December 20, 1848, in her hometown. They had seven children in 16 years. She died on October 3, 1902, at the age of 72, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
