Sister Ethel Tuggle Wilson was born August 13, 1913, the daughter of Tom and Nannie Tuggle Autry in Homer, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Lonnie Wilson and her four sisters, Bennie Key, Jimmie Holt, Ossie Autry and Angeline McElroy.

Sister Ethel departed for her heavenly journey on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the John Williamson Hospice House, El Dorado, Arkansas at 9:45 p.m.

At an early age she confessed her love for Christ and united with the Shiloh Baptist Church in Homer, Louisiana. She was a member for many years. She later moved to El Dorado, Arkansas and united with the First Baptist Church where she served in various ministries, such as President of the Music Department and Choir, President of the Women's Mission Society, Youth Fellowship and the Food Pantry. She was also a dynamic and devoted civic leader.

She served as Past Grand Daughter Ruler, Past State President of the Arkansas State Association of Daughter Elks of Derrick City Temple No.352 of El Dorado, Arkansas. Under her leadership as State President and State Deputy, she organized two Temples, one in Little Rock and Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She served as President of the Washington High School PTA for seven years and as a treasurer of the Concessions team. Her efforts helped purchase the first band uniforms for the Washington High School Band.

She worked as a Cook at Medical Center of South Arkansas for 40 years.

She united in Holy Matrimony to Lonnie Wilson and to this union were blessed with two chilren, Carol and Alvin Ray.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted daugher Carol Shutes(Charles) of El Dorado, Arkansas; a son Alvin Ray Wilson(Gaye) of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Tracy Shutes(Regina), Kimberly Engram(Timothy), Alvin Ray Wilson, Jr. and Natalie Alexander(Derrick); nine great-grandchildren, Marcquese McElroy, Tre'Darius Shutes, Timothy Engram II, Carson Alexander, Jacey Engram, Treazure Shutes, Carrington Alexander, Madison McElroy and Micha McElroy. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her encouraging words and warm embrace.

A Homegoing Celebration for Sister Ethel Wilson will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church-Cordell, El Dorado, Arkansas with Rev. Pierce Moore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lott Burgy Cemetery, El Dorado, Arkansas under the direction of the Sims Mortuary Staff.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, January 18, 2013 from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m and Saturday, January 19, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
