*Mary E. Taylor was born on March 10, 1827, in Tennessee. She married Joseph Everett Fortner on October 13, 1853, in Lauderdale, Tennessee. They had four children in 10 years. She died on May 18, 1898, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
