*When Nellie Fortner was born on September 26, 1867, in White, Arkansas, her father, Joseph, was 54, and her mother, Mary, was 40. She married John Paul Crook on November 10, 1891. She then married J. N. Norwood on February 19, 1900. She died on November 11, 1938, in her hometown at the age of 71, and was buried in Searcy, Arkansas.
