BELLA VISTA — Harry Hayes Kimball, 91, died on June 27, 2015, at his home in Bella Vista, Ark.

He was raised and lived in Farmington, N.H., until leaving for the service in the infantry. He trained as a combat engineer at Ft. Belvoir and was attached to the 90th Infantry Division under General Patton during the WW II in Germany. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire. This is where he first met Catherine, who married him and became the love of his life. He was teaching mathematics and science in a New Hampshire high school when once again was called back into service. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1977 after 28 years of military service and made Bella Vista their home. He was a veteran of World War II and Vietnam. His military career included assignments as Operations and Missile Guidance officer for an Atlas missile complex launching several missiles for the Air and Research Command, was responsible for the installation of a computer system for the Strategic Air Command underground headquarters, Commander of a five hundred man Communication Squadron in support of the Rome Air Force Base, Staff Communications and Electronics Officer of a NATO Headquarters in Germany and Operations Officer for a NATO radar systems evaluation squadron. His many awards and medals including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, European Theater with three campaign clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal and for dedicated service for his country was presented with the Legion of Honor Medal. He retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Col. He was Past Master of the Bentonville Masonic Lodge, an active Shriner and a member of the Bella Vista Community Church.

The last years of his life were spent lovingly caring for his wife, Kay, who had developed Alzheimer's Disease. He and Kay would be seen many days traveling around NWA, as they both loved to go on rides, (Kay is now being cared for at the Bentonville Manor, close to family.) He was delighted to have his small family around him in Bella Vista and Bentonville, Ark., and enjoyed visiting with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Henryson.

Harry is survived by his wife Catherine (Kay) Kimball of 64 years; daughter, Bonnie (Johnny) Sisemore of Bella Vista, Ark.; Bonnie's sons Erik and Scott (Courtney) Bayerl of Bentonville, Ark. Also surviving are Michael Henryson, son-in-law and his son Alex Henryson of Bella Vista, Ark.
