Crow (Whitnery-Crow) Cemetery
White County,
Arkansas

Also called Crow - Whitney Cemetery and Black Creek Cemetery. Land Purchesed by Joshua B Crow in 1849. Earliest marked grave 1852 in center (Original) one and a half acre section predates railrod and founding of Kensett by twenty years. Searcy to West Point wagon roadbed (Ca 1830's to 1870's) at south end. Half acre south addition set aside in 1878 by Joshua J Crow. Vast majority of graves in original section and south addition are unmarked. Two acre north addition purchased 1909 by trustees Jack Gains, James W Walker, N H Waddy, J C Waddy and W F Black.

Monument erected 2007 by the White County Historical Society and friends in memory of Calvin Hugh Akridge of Kensett who directed clean up of the overgrown south half of the cemetery in 2004 - 2005.
