March 4, 1893 - August 16, 1966
Mrs. L. D. Stephens, 73, of 513 W. Hillsboro St., died in a local hospital Tuesday. She was a member of the Lisbon Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, L. D. Stephens, to whom she would have been married 55 years had she lived until August 20. Other survivors include three sons, John C. Stephens, Sr., Pine Bluff; Herman W. (Bill) Stephens, Little Rock, and Thomas M. Stephens, Cullen, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Hair, El Dorado, Mrs. Fred Wolfe, Monroe, La., and Mrs. James Sandifer, El Dorado; her father, Frank Roberson, West Monroe, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Bandy, Monroe, La., and Mrs. Arlene Randal, St. Louis, Mo.; 25 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Pratt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. P. D. Alston officiating. Burial followed at Old Parker Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will be at the home of the Rev. Oscar Haire. 527 Jewel Lane. (The El Dorado Times - August 17, 1966)
