Matha M. Mikles Reginato, 91, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on February 18, 2008 at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Roller Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery at Paris, Arkansas, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home-Paris. Services were officiated by her nephew Pastor Larry Thomas of Heber Springs, Arkansas. The eulogy was delivered by her grandnephew Dr. Jeremy Thomas of Memphis, Tennessee. Leona Cleveland of Paris, Arkansas played the piano and sang inspirational music.

Matha was born February 11, 1917 in Reveille Valley, Arkansas to William H. (Bill) and Anna (Brice) Mikles.

Matha attended school at Magazine Academy in Magazine, Arkansas. She was very independent and modern when she was a young woman. In the 1940's, she traveled extensively in the United States by bus, train, and airplane with many life experiences. Matha worked for a Naval Officer in Florida during WWII where she christened a ship. When President Franklin Roosevelt died, Matha was in Washington, D.C. to visit her fiancé, Jack Reginato. Jack was in the Navy and stood color guard at President Roosevelt's funeral and Matha was privileged to attend the funeral parade.

Jack and Matha were married in New York City on August 14, 1945 on VJ Day amid the ticker-tape parades marking the end of WWII. A daughter, Vontella Rhea was born to them on February 13, 1947. They lived most of their married life in Kansas until Jack became ill. They moved back to Paris in 1978 and Jack passed away on August 29, 1978.

Matha was a wonderful companion to Jack and a loving mother and grandmother. She was always available to lend a helping hand to her many friends and relatives.

Matha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Iva (Mikles) Eubanks and Irene (Mikles) Thomas, brothers; William (W.H.) Mikles, Tugo Mikles, and Tony Mikles.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Vontella and Don Beach of Paris; grandson and wife, Brett and Jennifer Beach of Wichita, Kansas; and great granddaughter Bailey Rhea of Wichita, Kansas; and sister Ada Mikles of Reveille Valley and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were; W.T. Mikles, Jimmy Mikles, Robert Mikles, Bill Mikles, Steve Schulte, and Ron Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were her nieces and nephews.
