Mrs. Belle C. House, 85, of 1201 South Washington, died Saturday night at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held today, 3 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Mann officiating assisted by Rev. Don Williams. Interment will be at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Born Oct. 7, 1889 in Union County, Mrs. House was a life-long resident of the county and was the daughter of Billy Cook and Katherine Shaw Cook. She was a member of Vantreace United Methodist Church. Survivors included two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Shackelford of El Dorado and Mrs. Inez Kinard of Good Pine, La.' three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will be at the S. R. Shackelford residence, 1207 West Block. Pallbearers will be Otha Smith, Richard Larubadiere, James Hudson, Clifton Cook, Arnold Cook and Charles Gloder. (El Dorado News-Times - July 22, 1974)
