Nellie M. Stracener, born on February 16, 1912, in Romance, Arkansas to William and Urabell Free, passed away February 15, 2010, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 97. She is survived by: her brother, L.D. Free of Bebee, Arkansas; her sons, Robert Stracener, Jr. (daughter-in-law, Amy) of St. Augustine, Florida and Woody Stracener (daughter-in-law, Eleanor) of St. Joseph, Missouri and by her daughter, Betty Cooper of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Mark Stracener, Laura Bodicky, Gail Orstad, Jody James, Amy Riether, and Stacey Cooper; by 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Herschel) Stracener, Sr. to whom she was married for 74 years, having married him when she was 14 years old. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Hattie, Sallie, Bertha, Gladys, Elgie, Lester, Lorene and Raymond. A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Honey Hill in Searcy, Arkansas. Floral Haven 252-2518 This obituary was published in the Tulsa World on 2/16/2010.
