August 27, 1890 - August 30, 1974
Jesse J Thurlkill, 84, of route 1 El Dorado died Friday morning at local nursing home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Jones officiating. Burial will be in the old Parker's Chapel Cemtery. Born in Union County on Aug. 27, 1890, he was the son of William Thomas and Minerva Hill Thurlkill. He was a life long resident of Union County. Survivors include on step son, William Thomas Thurlkill of Cape Girardeau, Miss; six step daughters, Mrs. Jim Burleson of El Dorado, Mrs. Frank Vernon of Tyler, Tex., Mrs. Al Collins and Mrs. Robert Corbel both of Huston, Tex., Mrs. Connie DeJonge of Zeland, Mich., and Mrs. Jimmy Patterson of Donaldsonville, La. Pallbearers are Floyd Thurlkill, W. P. (Sonny) Thurlkill, Rex Thurlkill, Sherwood Thurlkill, Trent Thurlkill and Jeff Thurlkill. The family will be at Mrs. Jim Burleson's residence on South Field Road. (El Dorado News-Times - August 31, 1974)
