Thomas Ansen Andrews, 80, of Parnell Road, Route 1, El Dorado, died early Tuesday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Union County, he was born Feb. 4, 1889, the son of John and Mary Alice Sawyer. He was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Leonard G. Andrews of New Orleans, La., and Tommie Andrews of Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. James Lewis of Luling, La., Mrs. E. W. Hall of Neederland, Tex., and Mrs. T. B. Evers of El Dorado; a brother, Clifford Andrews of El Dorado; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Barker, Mrs. Lou Davis and Mrs. Mary Welch, all of El Dorado; and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body was taken to the family home on Parnell Road Tuesday afternoon. (El Dorado Times - March 11, 1969)
