Coy Joe Rush Sr., 90, of Paris, widower of Teresa Leding Rush, died Monday, May 3, 2004. He was born in Carbon City on Dec. 14, 1913, to the late Joe and Charity Rush. Coy was a coal miner, cattleman and salesman at the Leader Store. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, sports fan, and lifelong Democrat. Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Rush Taylor of North Little Rock; two sons and daughters-in-law, David L. and Chandra Rush of New Blaine and Coy Joe Jr. and Linda Rush of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, Lisa and husband, Scott Lawrence, Tyson Rush, Chelsea Rush, Celaina, Cedrah, Cimone and Charity Rush, and Camealia Tukker; and two great-grandchildren, Scottie Elizabeth and David Patrick Lawrence. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Roller Chapel in Paris. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at the Roller Chapel in Paris with burial at McVay Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris. Memorial contributions may be made to Paris High School, 604 N. 10th St., Paris, AR 72855.
