Marvin R. Boggs, age 88, of Searcy, Ark. passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.
Marvin was born in Rose Bud, Ark. on Aug.23, 1921 the fourth child of the late Albert D. and Lillie Mae (Crow) Boggs.
He graduated in the class of 1940 in Rose Bud, Ark.
He entered the United States Army on Aug. 29, 1942 at Camp J.T. Robinson, Ark. He served his country as a Surgical Tech/Ambulance driver during WWII in Europe. He was awarded four Bronze Stars while serving in the southern France Rome-Arno Rhineland Central Europe campaigns. He was also awarded the Good Conduct Metal and was honorably discharged Nov. 27, 1945.
He retired after 25 years of service at the Memphis plant of Kellogg's Company headquartered in Battle Creek, Mich.
He was among the first employees and was able to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary of the Memphis plant in November 2008.
Marvin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Searcy since 1985.
