October 21, 1943 - June 23, 2015
George F. Cummins, Sr., age 71, died at the Medical Center of South Arkansas on June 22, 2015, in El Dorado, AR. George was born on October 21, 1943, in DuBois, PA to parents Raymond and Martha Cummins.
He graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1963. He married Norma Dixon in DuBois, PA on May 27, 1967, and had two children together. In 1979, he moved to El Dorado, AR and accepted a position as a truck driver, at Ensco for 14 years, Lees Trucking for several years and Union County Transportation before retiring. He was known as ‘Halfbreed’ on the CB radio. George will be greatly remembered as a great family man and a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather “Bup”. He enjoyed attending racing events with his family, and hunting wildlife.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and his brother, Martin Cummins all of DuBois, PA.
Those left to cherish in memory are his wife, Norma Cummins; his daughter, Bonnie (Billy) Smith; his son, George (Kelly) Cummins, Jr.; two grandsons, Jonathan Smith and Daniel Cummins all of El Dorado; a sister-in-law, June Cummins; a niece, Lisa Cummins; and a nephew Chuck Cummins.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Larry Hudson officiating, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
