Shirley Cline Blackburn, 74, of El Dorado passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
She was born March 10, 1939 in Sapulpa, OK to Shelby Cline and Roberta Maddox Cline. Shirley worked as a lab tech and accountant at Great Lakes Chemical Company. She was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church for over forty years where she was also a member of the Unity Sunday School Class and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She participated in Relay for Life, was member of the El Dorado Racquet Club where she participated on the tennis team, was an avid bridge player, reader and crossword solver. Shirley supported all El Dorado Athletic teams and was always a supportive grandmother and a true friend to her church and community family.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Jack Blackburn and two sisters, Eleanor Combs and Sue Gardner.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Blackburn of El Dorado and Billy Blackburn and his wife Sonna of El Dorado and grandchildren, Raelyn Stewart, Shelby Blackburn, Ty Blackburn and Baylor Blackburn all of El Dorado.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Walker officiating and under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Food Pantry, 700 W. 8th St., El Dorado, AR 71730 or the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, AR 71730
