Marcelle Splawn Carter, 85, of Parkers Chapel passed away suddenly, April 4, 2020 at Baptist Health in Little Rock after a cardiac arrest.

Marcelle was born January 27, 1935 in Wesson, Arkansas to Horace Lee Mason and Vera Olive Barker Mason. She married the love of her life, Leonard A. Splawn on August 27, 1950. They were together until his death April 1, 2005. They had six children. In 2006, she married Rev. Bill Carter who also preceded her in death in 2017.

She was employed at several places but she loved working at Sterling Variety and J.C. Penny the most. She retired in 2001 to care for her husband, Leonard. Marcelle was a talented gospel song writer of over 150 songs, which blessed the hearts of many.

Preceding her in death were husbands, Leonard and Bill; two infant sons; a baby daughter, Pamela Ruth; one brother, Alfred Mason; and one sister, Maudie Mason Humphrey.

Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Steve Splawn (Cheryl); daughters Lydonna Primm (Authur) and Susie Primm (Lonnie); six grandchildren; Katie Okeley (David), Andrew Splawn (Bethany), Matthew Primm, Sarah Primm, Bethany Primm, and Jared Primm (April); six great grandchildren; a sister Shirley Funderberg; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 Regulations a Private Family Graveside will be held Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
