Quention Buford Sagely, died January 1, 2021. He was born on June 17, 1936, to Roy and Irene Sagely. He is survived by his brother, Alfred; 2 sisters, Twyla and Genevie; 3 sons, Richard, David, Ronald; 4 granddaughters, Natalie, Lindsey, Tiffany and Sonja; grandson, Eric; great-granddaughter, Ila; and 3 great-grandsons, Cooper, Jaden, and Turner.
Quention was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, AW and Benny; and two sisters, Louise and Francis. He worked on the family farm until graduating from Bentonville High School. He moved to Wichita Kansas with his wife, Ila Castle.
He worked numerous jobs and landed his career job at Rainbow Bakery where he had become a Bakery Foreman and excelled at this job. After his three boys were born, he worked tirelessly at two sometimes three jobs at a time. He worked any odd job from cleaning carpets to driving a truck for the food bank. He also worked construction jobs and countless other jobs until he retired from the bakery after 39 years. After retiring he moved Seligman, Missouri which is close to his hometown of Cave Springs. After his wife passed in 2008, he stayed in Seligman for a few years then moved to Wichita with his sons.
He lived out his years fishing, walking, gardening and enjoying life, until old age, dementia, and other health conditions got the best of him. He died peacefully in his sleep and went on to the afterlife. He was at mentor, coach, and a friend to anyone who knew him. He will be missed dearly by all.
Graveside services will be in Cave Springs Cemetery, Friday, January 8, 2021 at 1 p.m. Online condolences can be made at www.rollinsfuneral.com.
