When Winford Biniom Smith was born on December 19, 1927, his father, Biniom, was 31 and his mother, Lois, was 24. He married Lola Lyvonne Sproul on November 30, 1949. They had five children during their marriage. He died on April 2, 1999, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 71, and was buried in White, Arkansas.
