*When George William Clarence Pence was born on December 23, 1869, in Dogwood, Arkansas, his father, Marion, was 25 and his mother, Matilda, was 16. He married Martha Avy Dugger on September 17, 1893. They had eight children in 17 years. He died on December 4, 1912, in Scott, Arkansas, at the age of 42, and was buried in Griffithville, Arkansas.
When Martha Avy Dugger was born on January 6, 1874, in Arkansas, her father, William, was 23, and her mother, Rebecca, was 19. She married George William Clarence Pence on September 17, 1893. They had eight children in 17 years. She died in 1911 in Griffithville, Arkansas, at the age of 37, and was buried there.
