*When Matilda Francis Pence was born on January 22, 1855, in Tennessee, her father, Joshua, was 24, and her mother, Demarius, was 24. She married W. E. Peterson on January 14, 1903. She died on November 7, 1906, in White, Arkansas, at the age of 51, and was buried in Griffithville, Arkansas.
