*When George Carroll Ray was born on March 29, 1854, in Dent, Missouri, his father, James, was 38 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 35. He married Margarett Clarenda Holliday on April 20, 1884. They had nine children in 24 years. He died in 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 88, and was buried in Griffithville, Arkansas.
Margarett Clarenda Holliday was born in September 1866 in Arkansas. She married George Carroll Ray on April 20, 1884. They had nine children in 24 years. She died in 1932 in her hometown at the age of 66.
