W. V. Land Dies At The Home Of His Daughter

Walter Virgil Land, 70, lifelong resident of Winslow, died at 10 o'clock last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Standley, 230 West Cleburn Street. Mr. Land was born July 16, 1885 at Winslow, the son at Green and Samantha Cunningham. A retired merchant, he was a member of the Winslow Methodist Church and Summit Masonic Lodge No. 530.

Surviving relatives are his wife, Ollie, of the home; one son, Earl Land, Fayetteville; three daughters, Mrs. Standley and Mrs. Blonnie Rose Henbest both of Fayetteville, and Miss Geneva Land of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Newt Land, Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Duncan, Springdale, and Mrs. Glenn Duncan of Winslow; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will he held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Methodist church, Winslow, with burial in the Brentwood cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Mrs. Ollie G. Land, 85, of Fayetteville, died Monday in a local hospital. Born April 12, 1886 at Winslow, the daughter of Thomas and Rosie Grubb, she was a Methodist.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Blonnie Rose Henbest and Mrs. Ernest Standley both of Fayetteville and Miss Geneva Land of Tulsa; nine grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will he at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moore's Chapel with burial in Brentwood Cemetery.
