Allen Thomas Hoofman, age 73 of Judsonia, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at his home. He was born January 16, 1943 at Judsonia, Arkansas to Myrt Hoofman and Elsie Mae West Hoofman. He served his country for 3 years in the US Army followed by 20 years in the US Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam and many other stations during his service to our country. He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal (four awards), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Color), Navy "E" Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Tommie Hoofman; one daughter, Vicki Price and Chris Williams of Conway; one son, Thomas Allen Hoofman and wife Carolyn of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Kelsey Verret Hoofman, Kara Ann Hoofman, Nicole Danielle Hoofman, Sarah Jane Hoofman, Trevor Jensen Hoofman; one brother, Robert Hoofman and wife Shirley of Judsonia; and one sister, Margie Jameson of Searcy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Myrt and Elsie Mae Hoofman. Visitation is Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 pm at Salem Cemetery at Judsonia.
